On Saturday, May 23, 2015 Jeep owners
from two RGV Jeep clubs, South Texas
Jeeps and Texas Jeep Crawlers, gathered
at The River in Mission, Texas to
participate in the First Annual RGV Jeep
Jam to benefit the Juan Diego Academy
Catholic Regional High School.
Beginning with registration at 8 am
participants enjoyed a full day of off
roading, music, food and fun.
Eighty-Seven Jeeps were registered
and took off at 11 am traveling to Palo
Blanco Ranch in Penitas, TX where they
crawled their way along many miles of
off road trails.
Around 4 pm they made their way back
to The River (formerly known as Pepe's
on the River) to continue the festivities
with food, music and the presentation of
awards.
Hundreds of Rio Grande Valley residents
congregated at The River to enjoy this Family
Friendly event.
While the off roaders were having a blast at
Palo Blanco Ranch, the rest of us enjoyed great
food, music and vendor's booths.
Early on, students from Juan Diego Academy
provided breakfast tacos and throughout the
day there were doughnuts, hot dogs and beverages
to enjoy.
At about 5 pm we feasted on smoked chicken
leg quarters, beans and coleslaw, mmmgood!
Music was provided by River Rock 7 and
Tragic Komic.
All who attended had a great time and we all
look forward to the next Annual RGV Jeep Jam
coming in May 2016!
