Through the work of our 26 partner agencies United Way impacts the lives of over 245,000 RGV residents every year. Every year, United Way staff, board members, loaned executives and volunteers collaborate in efforts to raise funds through the annual campaign.

We want to thank all of our friends and volunteers who have impacted
3000 families by completing tax returns at no cost. The amount of money
returned to these families in our two county area, Starr and Hidalgo,
totaled, $6,074,000.00.

with household incomes of $54,000 or
less in 2015, are eligible to benefit from
the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
(VITA) program. Approximately 175 United Way volunteers
have been working diligently to serve families in Hidalgo
& Starr Counties.

Net. We support over 21 non-profit agencies in Hidalgo & Starr counties that serve a minimum of 265,000 local residents. Services provided to the
community include shelter for victims of domestic violence and the homeless, disaster relief, end-of-life care, information and referral services,
consumer education, job training to people with disabilities, counseling to those affected by alcohol or drug abuse, basic necessities for the elderly
or disabled, character building programs for children, child victim advocacy and infant stimulation classes.
